10th Street Lofts Gallery

The 10th Street Lofts are Downtown Des Moines' newest rental property.  The two building complex includes the 4-story Standard Glass and Paint Building and the 6-story Herring Motor Car Company Building.  Both buildings were added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2004.  At the cost of $12 million, the buildings were completely renovated into 94 lofts in 2005.

    10th Street Lofts includes the following features and specs:

  • 94 lofts, ranging from 610 to 1,648 square feet

  • Rents range from $695 for a studio to $1425 for a two bedroom loft

  • Ground floor units feature 16 foot ceilings, other units have 11 foot ceilings

  • Polished concrete floors and granite countertops

  • The basement levels of each building contain a fitness center, storage space for each unit, and laundry facilities

Standard Glass and Paint Building Exterior- At 4-stories, the Standard Glass and Building was originally constructed in 1903.

Herring Motor Company Building Exterior- The Herring Motor Company Building is the southern building of the complex and was built in 1913 .  The building was still under construction at the time of this photo.
