Info:
Muscatine is the county seat of Muscatine County and home to 22,697 people, with 53,900 in the micropolitan area. Sitting 30 miles south of the Quad Cities on the Mississippi River, Muscatine has a rich industrial heritage and boasts many well known corporations. Home to HON Furniture Industries, BANDAG Inc., and the largest Heinz Cannery factory between the Mississippi River and the Rockies, Muscatine also gave name to its most popular export; the Muscatine Watermelon. Similar to other Mississippi River towns, there is plenty of historic architecture to be found in the downtown and surrounding neighborhoods, some of which dates back to 1840.
