Waterloo Downtown: Courier Block

There was an article last Monday and a conformational article in today's Waterloo Courier about its move from what is known as the Courier block (area bounded by West Park Avenue, Commercial, W 4th and Cedar Streets) to 100 East 4th Street. The Courier has been at the present location since the 1920's although printing moved off-site (to CR) in 2008.

The Courier is back-filling space that had been vacated by Waterloo Industries (Fortune Home and Security). So no net gains here. The interesting aspect of this is that the entire Courier block will have a new owner based out of Davenport (Financial District Properties) who intends to redevelop the site.
