Deere to expand in Waterloo as part of $97 million project

MOLINE, Ill. --- Deere & Co. said today it is adding 103,000 square feet to its drive-train operation in Waterloo as part of a new $97 million investment plan to further increase production of high-horsepower tractors.

Deere is investing $70 million in Waterloo again. Not as exciting as a new condo project or hospital addition in Iowa City, but good news for Iowa's forsaken former industrial giant city.
