Praying, lots of praying.

Coralville negotiating for Von Maur
B.A. MORELLI • IOWA CITY PRESS-CITIZEN • JANUARY 4, 2011
Von Maur department store and Coralville are in negotiations for the "anchor tenant" spot in Coralville's up-and-coming retail district known as Iowa River Landing, said Deanna Trumbull, a consultant for the district.
However, despite a promotional brochure presenting Von Maur as a done deal, Trumbull downplayed it, saying Von Maur is one of several retailers Coralville is in talks with for the space along Interstate 80, and no deal is in place.
"They are a prospective tenant that we've been talking to for IRL. At this point it is not something that is complete. We negotiate with a number of tenants at any time," Trumbull said, but declined to identify other tenants.
Von Maur currently is an anchor store in the Sycamore Mall in Iowa City, and it is unclear if the Iowa River Landing deal goes through if Coralville would serve as a new home in the area or a second one. Officials from Sycamore and Von Maur did not return messages seeking comment.

A brochure created by OliverMcMillan, a San Diego-based firm also working on the area, states, "Iowa River Landing provides the opportunity for 330,000 (square feet) of retail, entertainment, anchored by an 85,000 square foot Von Maur department store."
