  • Construction of a 3-story Chinese Pavilion, waterfalls, bonsai landscaping and granite sculptures along the east bank of the Principal Riverwalk near the junction of the planned pedestrian bridge
  • The gardens will be named in honor of former Iowa Governor Robert D. Ray, due to his influence in opening Iowa's borders to thousands of Vietnamese refugees in the 1970's
  • Project is part of the larger Chinese Cultural Center of America, which is also planned for the riverfront
