  • I-235 is approximately14 miles long
  • I-235 was designed in the fifties and completed in the sixties
  • After reconstruction, I-235 will have 6 lanes (8 from Downtown to 63rd St) and auxiliary lanes
  • In January of 2004, the Iowa DOT launched tripGuide, an intelligent transportation system using cameras and sensors
  • The I-235 corridor will be enhanced with color, plants, and lighting
