University of Iowa Campus Photo Page

The University of Iowa Campus sits upon 1,900 acres surrounding the Iowa River in central Iowa City.  It is the cultural, sports and educational activity hub of the entire Iowa City-Coralville region and is adjacent to vibrant downtown Iowa City.  The University is comprised of 11 separate colleges including the popular colleges of law, pharmacy, medicine and liberal arts, among others.  It is home to over 28,000 students and features notable architecture from Frank Gehry and several high profile Iowa firms.  Founded in 1847, the U of I plays an active role in the Iowa economy by having a large medical/hospital campus stretched out along the limestone carved bluffs of the Iowa River.  The campus is highly landscaped with trails along the riverfront, that eventually blend into a more urban setting as the campus intertwines itself with downtown.
